For nearly six years, Aral believed himself to be the only survivor when his guild was destroyed. Now, his former fiancée returns begging for his help in rescuing her new love and their students from the Hand of Heaven.
They are both nearly killed at their first encounter and life only becomes more dangerous as they pursue their goals. As they search for information about where everyone is being held, Aral will learn ever more about treachery and his beliefs and will to survive will be tested.
CROSSED BLADE is hard to summarize because there is so much that unfolds during the story, I would hate to give too much away. Kelly McCullough has once again written a magnificent story which deals with love, betrayal and redemption.
Aral's entire being is shaken as he realizes that the events that shook his world were orchestrated by a person he trusted most in this world. Re-discovering his inner strength will force him into actions that could not be predicted.
For six years, former temple assassin Aral Kingslayer has
been living as a jack of the shadow trades, picking up odd
jobs on the wrong side of the law. But the past is never
dead, and Aral’s has finally caught up to him in the
beautiful, dangerous form of Jax Seldansbane—a fellow Blade
and Aral’s onetime fiancée.
Jax claims that the forces that destroyed everything Aral
once held dear are on the move again, and she needs his help
to stop them. But Aral has a new life now, with a fresh
identity and new responsibilities. And while he isn’t keen
on letting the past back in, the former assassin soon finds
himself involved in a war that will leave him with no way
out and no idea who to trust…
