Romance

The words, "gang violence" take on a whole new meaning in SCHOOL BITES. An installment in the, Crimson City series by multiple authors, this book takes you on a journey through the eyes of a new paranormal - a school full of kids that can morph into various paranormals in a second.

Being that "Ben Franklin Middle School" is in the segregated werewolf district, they are most prevalent, but most of they kids do not know they are "different", or they at least do not report they are different to avoid being shunned by humans that use a crew named "B-Ops" to sniff them out.

Several boys gang up on one named Victor. Toni, a well meaning teacher, jumps in to stop it and over the course of the fight, Victor is riled up enough to turn into a werewolf. Unable to control himself, he bites Toni.

Toni is required to have someone near her in case she turns full on werewolf within the next 24 hours, so they can shoot her with the silver bullet.

A garlic infused serum named SaniLyco is kneaded into the bite to hopefully prevent Toni from turning. She has a reaction to the serum which makes her find a different sort of "animal" within herself. She is sexy, she is unstoppable, & I adore her on every level. I wanted to be Toni.

Principal John Wayne Wong, who's Hong Kong immigrant parents thought they could "Americanize" him with the name, is a character you immediately find yourself drawn to. You want to know more about him & Ms. Lee does not disappoint. This is a man that is genuine "man". He is the hero we all need in life.

Fighting for "her kids", Toni Freedman is an instantly lovable character that I found myself cheering for & crossing my fingers that she does not turn. She believes there is good in every kid and in all the twists, I found myself sincerely shaking my head, "She has to make it. The kids need her in their lives."

Did I mention Toni finds herself sexually attracted to Mr. Wong when she has the SaniLynco reaction? John is attracted to Toni & has always known she was someone special, but he's the principal. She is the teacher. Their love is forbidden. Of course Ms. Lee does not leave out the best part - attraction & love. Will John surrender to the insatiable Toni? Will Toni make it through the bite or will she have to take the silver bullet?

SCHOOL BITES is a wonderful book full of the things readers love. It has drama, it has forbidden attraction, & most of all, it had me turning the pages as fast as possible. This is book most have not heard about, but I could not recommend it more as a fun read on a rainy afternoon. Oh, & good luck trying to forget Mr. John Wayne Wong. He still haunts me.

SUMMARY

Its been said there’s no such thing as quiet in Crimson City. Ever since the metropolis first became home to paranormals, discord was named queen. But who will be her king: vampires, werewolves, demons or men? One thing remains sure: This land is a battleground and conflict is eternal. Here, one silken caress can be deadlier than a bullet, but some still know joy. But for some, darkness can become light, pain can become ecstasy, and hatred can give way to love. Middle school teacher Toni Freedman deals with the most dangerous population there is: pre-adolescents that draw from Crimson City's newly created Wolftown. You guessed it, she gets bitten. Not only does she have to cope with suddenly being a werewolf, but now she and the school are the center of a battleground between human and paranormal. The only one keeping his cool is sexy principal John Wang. Together John and Toni battle wolf-haters, ED students, and a sexual chemistry with an added kick. Welcome to class–Crimson City style!
