Since 2003 I have been captivated by the Ghostwalker
series.
The first time I saw Shadow Game I thought 'really Ms.
Feehan, a military superhero book?' But it was a Feehan and
so I bought it, I flew thru it, and I bought each and every
book that has come after it. Feehan has a way with writing
characters that makes even the ones that I typically would
shy away from interesting. With Ghostwalkers she managed to
make me believe that there really could be genetically
enhanced soldiers who are fighting not only for what's
right, but for control of their very lives. SAMURAI GAME
brought it with a punch that left me reeling!
As a child Thorn was considered by Whitney as an expendable.
Meaning she was mouthy, she defied him, and he really didn't
see any use for keeping her around...except as an experiment.
Treated like a lab rat until the age of 8, Thorn was tossed
aside into the very slum of Japan and left for dead. Finding
a savior in the slums was not supposed to be in the
equation, but find a savior is what Thorn did. She was
transformed into Azami Yoshiie and was known worldwide for
the brilliance of her mind. There was still one small thing
that Azami needed...redemption for the life she led as Thorn.
Enter one gigantic knot into her plans in the shape and form
of one very well put together guy! Sam Johnson is a quiet
man. Never in the forefront of battle; Sam would rather be
thought of as little as possible. He has hidden his talents
and his charms willing to be an expendable; willing to make
that sacrifice. When Thorn and Sam get separated from their
teams the sparks begin to fly, and not just from their
quickly revealed powers.
I was not too sure I remembered exactly who Sam was. I know
that he has never really been a major or even minor player
in the other books. I believe that he has been mentioned so
we know of him, but we don't know of him; which actually
fits really well with the way Feehan has written his
character. Thorn I was not sure I was going to love or
connect with. I was very surprised by her level of depth,
strength, and just the raw emotion that we see from these
two. I really liked the twisted idea about the invaluable
'experiments' and how very powerful they actually were.
Another thing I loved was that Feehan gave clues, she hinted
around, questioning almost every character, and yet
she managed to create another plot line with the traitor
that will once again have me coming back for more.
The Ghostwalkers series is one place where Christine
Feehan
delves into a genre that few romance authors have dared to
go and even fewer have had any success at. Yet with Feehan
this series has been a phenomenon with bestseller after
bestseller where each book leaves the readers yearning for
more! SAMURAI GAME followed those rules and then some! The
action begins on page two and never quite seems to stop. The
intensity with which Feehan writes is simply amazing I was
left on the edge of my seat. The action was jam packed, the
romance was steamier than ever - both of which made SAMURAI
GAME was a nail biter until its bitter end.
In a world so dark and seductive, expect nothing less than a
triple-cross in the explosive all-new Ghostwalker novel by
#1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan…
In an underground club, a high-ranking public official
spends his secret nights indulging in fantasies as exciting
as they are depraved. For a seductive employee of the
Dungeon, it’s her job to fulfill them. But she’s playing a
far more dangerous game—one of blackmail, politics, and
murder that reaches into the shadow world of the
Ghostwalkers, and the creation of a spectacular,
one-of-a-kind new weapon of defense.
But when a dictator makes his own catastrophic moves, the
Ghostwalkers have no choice but to bring in two major
players—a man and woman both driven by passion and revenge.
Both expendable. Both with nothing left to lose.
