Romance | Romance Series

Emma Sanderson and her mother Rose have spent the last twenty-five years mourning and searching for her little Sister, Claire. Kidnapped at 2 years old, Rose's fiancée was accused of the kidnapping even though there was never enough evidence to convict him. New evidence has surfaced and Frank Whittier has been cleared. Emma has spent her whole life protecting her mother and both of them have been educating others for awareness of child abduction in the town of Comfort Cove.

Finding her fiancé, Rob Evert, in bed with another woman is one more disaster for Emma to deal with. Kicking him out and giving him time to move out, Emma takes her misery to the Citadel Restaurant to immerse herself in a drink and music. After a week of lobster fishing Chris Talbot spends Friday nights playing their piano. His "good for the soul" music invades Emma's senses and draws the two lonely people together, ending up in a motel engaged in mind boggling sex. Being "safe" and never taking chances has just been changed for Emma. As more information is revealed regarding her little sister's abduction, Emma and Chris are thrown together to help police. Chris stays close to Emma, thinking she may be pregnant from their unprotected sex. Neither admits their attraction goes beyond the fantastic hot sex until a near death incident involving her ex happens to them. Chris's love and devotion of the sea is his stumbling block in allowing himself to love any woman.

A DAUGHTER'S STORY, the second book in the Comfort Cove series is equally as fascinating as the first. I absolutely will not miss the 3rd and final of this series. The subject is heart wrenching and portrays the grief felt by both mother and daughter at their loss and has consumed the daughter's entire life. Tara Taylor Quinn has a real winner in this series and obviously a complete understanding of the tragedy involved.

SUMMARY

You can't change the past but you can choose the future! Twenty-five years ago… Emma Sanderson's life was completely overturned. Her baby sister was kidnapped, right there in Comfort Cove, and her family fell apart. Now… Emma lives quietly, cautiously. Until suddenly she finds out that the cold case involving her sister's disappearance has been reopened. Then, she ends her engagement—and meets another man. Chris Talbot shares her intense unexpected attraction, and their hours together mean more than anything she's ever experienced. Despite that, she's uncertain about a relationship with him. He's a man in a dangerous profession, a man who makes his living from the sea, and there are reasons, good reasons, for Emma to keep her distance. But that night could have lasting consequences….
