Emily Thorson is an archeologist who is studying an ancient civilization in the Indus Valley. Drawings found during the archeological dig indicate that there may have been alien intervention with mankind thousands of years ago. A journal found during the dig dates back to early 20th century is badly damaged, but Emily and her team hopes it can offer more clues to the site and earlier archeological teams who have searched the area.
Johnny is a rare book dealer in Chicago. He works in a bookstore during the day and repairs rare books at night in his own store. He returns home one evening to find a package has been delivered. Before he can examine the book, his store is broken into and the package stolen.
Emily and Johnny join forces to try to track down the stolen archeological journal and as they first meet, the world is thrown into upheaval. Alien ships invade the earth's atmosphere and within days a large scale offensive has been launched against humankind, wiping out a large percentage of the earth's population. A group called PRIAM fights valiantly against the alien invaders and a large space ship is able to leave Earth for the Mars colony with Emily and Johnny aboard.
I found INFINITY CHILDREN to be rather difficult to read. The concept was good, but the story was scattered and hard to follow in some parts. It seemed like Mr. Donaldson tried to cram too much into one book and the story suffered for it. I liked Johnny and think with more character development, INFINITY CHILDREN would have been a really great book.
The eternal struggle of natural and supernatural.
Only time will tell who is master and who is servant. Lesser
gods walk the Earth as do their children. The battles fought
between their factions and those of mankind could break the
world. The only hope of survival lies in a bloodied journal,
discovered amidst the ruins of an ancient civilization, far
in the Middle East.
