HOW TO WIN THE DATING WAR tells the story of Cutter
Thompson, a former stock car driver who earned millions
until he crashed while making a dubious move to win a
race and was severely injured. He had no second career lined
up so now he works on a Barracuda he's been restoring for
years... grease, overalls, injured hands and all.
Jessica Wilson walks into Cutter's Florida garage in an
attempt to interest him in a publicity stunt
for charity. She wins him over despite his
initial reluctance. She must have realized that her good
looks and snappy dressing had something to do with it but
he's brash and chauvinistic; not someone she would consider
dating. Her own marriage failed and she runs a dating
service to try to arrange happiness for others.
The charity stunt involves various
woman interacting with Cutter over a week by online social
media and texting, answering questions about what they
think makes a good relationship. Followers of the stunt
will vote for who gets to date the man posing the
questions. Though Cutter has agreed to not date until
the stunt is over, the attraction builds until he and
Jessica can't keep their hands off each other.
Aimee Carson has mixed a few elements which at first appear
like oil and water but will likely work for some readers. If
you enjoy voting game shows, or online flirting, this might
be a good read for you. I wasn't sure if she had something
serious to say about the nature of dating these days, or if
she may have been trying humor - certainly the end of the
contest was funny.
Cutter Thompson—Miami's hottest ex-race car driver—believes
that action always speaks louder than words. Participating
in a celebrity dating competition, where his every text is
analyzed to death, is his worst nightmare!
Divorcee Jessica Wilson has built her life—and her dating
service!—on the premise that communication is the key to
happiness. Cutter might not think he needs her help to
flirt successfully, but her professional radar says
otherwise….
But this battle of the sexes gets complicated by an
intense, sizzling attraction! Will it be game, set and…
match made in heaven?
