Christopher Beckett is an extremely powerful and sexy wizard who from an ancient line of wizards with one small feature that sets him apart from most wizards -- he shape shifts to a wolf. And Christopher's wolf is ready to find a mate. Christopher uses an old family spell to call his mate to him -- he lists all of the qualities he is looking for in a mate -- someone from a lineage at least as old as his, born to power, with magic to compliment his own, and who can accept his wolf. One small thing Christopher forgot to mention when he cast his spell -- to ask for another wizard; but it never occurred to him that his spell would bring him a witch.
Alannah Evans -- known as Lana to her friends and family -- is a powerful witch from the Evans Coven. Lana finds herself stranded in the middle of nowhere with car troubles after attending a bachelorette party at a small town in Pennsylvania. With a dead car and a storm moving in, instinct drives Lana to leave her car and head into the dark woods along the road. She is compelled to keep moving forward -- as she is positive safety lies ahead.
Christopher is alerted by his spell that his mate is nearby and needs his assistance. He shifts to wolf form and heads out to rescue her. Lana is confronted by a man in the woods who has a sickly green and black aura. She is instantly aware that this man means her harm. She is able to break free from him and stumbles upon a huge wolf. Instead of being afraid, she follows the wolf to safety. Once back at his home, Christopher shifts back to his human form and reveals himself to Lana.
Lana has no issues with Christopher's wolf, but she's definitely not interested in tying herself to a wizard. However, as they work together to keep their families and each other safe from a dangerous, unexpected evil; Lana finds herself being drawn ever closer to Christopher and begins to realize that maybe there is more to this wizard than first met the eye.
SHADOW OF THE WOLF is a sizzling hot erotic, paranormal romance that keeps you on the edge of your seat from the first chapter right up to the end of the book. Ms. Bell did a wonderful job with character creation and world building. Christopher is a smoking hot wizard who just happens to be a shape-shifting wolf too and don't get me started on his brothers -- I'm anxiously awaiting more books so I can read their stories. Lana is a kick-butt heroine who doesn't just sit back and expect someone to rescue her -- she's more than capable of taking care of herself and I really enjoyed that! I highly recommend SHADOW OF THE WOLF!
Christopher Beckett is from an ancient line of wizards, but
with one aspect that sets him apart. His wolf. Right now
that wolf is howling for a mate. Knowing itβs only a matter
of time before the wolfβs needs override everything else in
his life, Chris casts the spell all the Becketts have used
to call their mates to them.
His wish list is short: She must be of a lineage at least as
old as his own. And she must accept his wolf. When his mate
appears, he realizes his list should have been one item longer.
Alannah Evans, a powerful witch of the Evans Coven, has no
problem with Chrisβs wolf. Itβs the wizard part that sticks
in her magical craw. Witches and wizards have always been at
odds, so by rights, she and Chris shouldnβt be striking
sparks of attraction this bright. But Chris will not be
denied, and gradually she finds herself trusting himβthen
falling into the fire of desire.
When it becomes clear an old enemy has targeted them both
for death, Chris charges into a duel that could cost him his
life. Or worse: Lana.
Warning: Product contains explicit sex, graphic language,
magic, mayhem, and a wet, naked wolf shifter bearing hot
chocolate. Mmm⦠chocolate
