Romance Suspense | Romance Series | Romance

Destiny Richardson's younger sister, Paula, sent her a despondent text message. When Destiny couldn't reach her, she went to Paula's apartment and made a gruesome discovery. Paula was lying in the bathtub with slashed wrists. Destiny knows that Paula was not the type to commit suicide but she will have to convince the the police.

Detective Logan Cavelli, now Cavanaugh, was just about to leave for a hot date when he gets the call to go to the scene of an apparent suicide. Logan meets Destiny at the scene. She is adamant that Paula would never have done this. While intrigued by the beautiful young woman, he doesn't realize that she works under his father in the lab.

When Sean, the head of the lab for Aurora Police Deparment, declares it a murder, Logan and Destiny will have to work together closely. Even though Destiny shouldn't be involved in the investigation, several detectives are out with the flu and if they are going to make progress, every body will be needed.

While I enjoyed CAVANAUGH'S SURRENDER because Ms. Ferrarella does a great job with continuity books with a fairly even quality in all of the stories, I felt like the relationship between Logan and Destiny was rushed. Their relationship could have used more development. Since so much of their time was spent on identifying the murderer, their love for each seemed too new for them to make the commitment that was implied in the storyline.

SUMMARY

"The killer is still out there."

Crime scene investigator Destiny Richardson receives the shock of her life when she finds her sister dead in a bathtub. Detective Logan Cavanaugh thinks it's an open-and-shut suicide case. But Destiny's convinced her sister was murdered. And she's not about to have some arrogant cop tell her otherwise-even if he is the sexiest man she's ever met.

Logan knows it's pointless trying to convince Destiny that it's against the rules to work on a relative's case. The crime scene investigator is as stubborn as she is gorgeous. Besides, Logan wouldn't mind getting to know her better. When it becomes apparent that there's a serial killer on the loose, Logan is bent on protecting the woman he's falling in love with.
