J.T. Douchett has returned to Shelter Bay to recover from
his final duties as a Marine. Everyone is worried about
him
since he spends too much time alone. He resists all his
families efforts to get him to talk. When the chief of
police and his future sister-in-law tell him that he will be
playing bodyguard to an actress, he is too smart to say no.
Shelter Bay is holding a movie festival and is thrilled to
find out that the famous actress, Mary Joyce is coming to
town.
Mary Joyce not only writes her own movies but stars is them
as well. Her older sister married an American writer who
helped her fine tune her writing and set her on the path to
stardom. Her Irish ancestry also includes a bit of the
sight. Just before the invitation to appear at the movie
festival, she dreams of a man who will change her life.
The last thing she expects on her arrival in Shelter Bay is
to meet that man in the bodyguard that the town has
provided
for her. The two of them get off to a rocky start with J.
T.'s preconceptions of what Mary will be like. As they
spend more time together , J. T. will learn that Mary
isn't
the diva he expected. He will also find that she listens
without judging and will finally be able to discuss the
grief that he is trying to handle.
Ms. Ross writes a story that wraps around your heart and
ensnares you. Her Shelter Bay series has been a joy
to read. She is a master storyteller.
