After receiving a summons from the elders, that could mean nothing more than going over the plans Libby had for enlarging her bakery "Libby's Loaves" or asking them to give up the house that they shared to someone who needed a larger home, but Libby has a bad feeling just holding the letter. The sisters implement a plan to sneak away but Ray has men watching with orders to stop them. Out of nowhere a horse appears and they manage to escape with his help. Later Libby realizes that this horse is not exactly a normal horse, it's a unicorn and also a man named Josh Mustang.
He's a shifter in search of his mate and the last thing he needs is to get involved with these two and their troubles. He's in "rut" and if he can't find his virgin mate he will live in his four legged form forever. Finding Libby not a virgin leaves him confused because the "rut" calms with her around. When Libby finds out that Josh is in jeopardy she insists that he go find his mate that Maggie and she would be fine, but he just can't seem to leave. As they meet varied obstacles toward safety the attraction only grows stronger.
Anna Leonard has written a different kind of shifter book. I found the book so easy to read, with a flow that wouldn't let you put it down. SHIFTER'S DESTINY is alive with adventure, the fight for survival, learning acceptance and how to love. All things you expect in a paranormal book and more.
