Mystery Cozy

Mayville Heights has been deluged with excessive rain. The artist's coop is flooding. Maggie and Kathleen are moving everything out that could be affected by the flooding. Kathleen heads out to Wisteria Hill to feed the feral cats with Marcus. A bank gives way with Maggie on it and she slides with all the mud. The slide exposes a skull. Marcus will start investigating the identity of the skeleton. Then one of the artists is found dead later at the coop. Jaeger Miller is found floating in the basement. Since it is well known that he and Maggie disagreed on many of the policies of the coop, Maggie becomes the prime suspect. Now, Kathleen has two investigations. The skeleton has been identified as Thomas Karlsson, Roma's father, who disappeared when she was young. Roma is the local vet and a good friend of Kathleen's. As the investigation progresses, Kathleen will learn that Wisteria Hill was more than a home, it was a way station for abused women. The investigation into Jaeger Miller will expose blackmail and forgeries. Kathleen and her magical cats, Hercules and Owen will bring the truth to light and expose the killers. COPYCAT KILLING is a wonderful addition to the enjoyable Magical Cats series which features two cats with lots of personality and a few tricks to their bag.

SUMMARY

Everyone thinks their cats are special—but Owen and Hercules have powers that go far beyond an adorable look or an irresistible purr. Along with their owner, librarian Kathleen Paulson, they have an uncanny instinct for solving crimes... It's been raining cats and dogs in Mayville Heights. The small town's been deluged, and now the local artists' co- op is on the verge of flooding. Kathleen has been up all night helping her friends move their creations to the safety of the upstairs studio. The artwork survives, but when controversial mask maker Jaeger Merrill is found drowned in the co-op basement, Kathleen questions whether the death was accidental. After she discovers the artist was using an assumed name, she realizes she can't actually assume anything about him. With the help of handsome detective Marcus Gordon—and her cats' extraordinary powers of detection—it's up to Kathleen to unmask a killer.
