Shona Husk has another winner on her hands! KISS OF THE
GOBLIN PRINCE is the second in Husk's fabulous Shadowland
series and a must read for all lovers of dark things
everywhere!
Following The Goblin King, KISS OF THE GOBLIN PRINCE
complimented the series in a way that I didn't quite
imagine it could. Where Goblin King was dark and sensual I
found that the innocence of Goblin Prince and the mystery
surrounding Dai were more than enough to keep him in my
heart and keep me wishing he had so much more.
KISS OF THE GOBLIN PRINCE is the story of Dai, brother to
the goblin King. The brothers and some of their family were
cursed centuries ago to live as goblins and serve the
masters who called them. Forced to complete horrible deeds
Dai has endured more than any man should. Yet he stood
beside Roan and kept them both from turning complete goblin
until the very end.
There are many things that the two have
shared, yet Dai has kept far too many secrets from Roan. The
death of their sister, the scars that he wears on his body,
and the magic that he holds inside him are just a few of the
things Dai has never been able to share with anyone. Finding
himself back in the real world was a thought that had never
entered his mind, yet here he is watching Roan live a
complete and full life. He has been watching Roan love,
watching him smile, and watching the world pass himself by.
Dai's only interest lies in unlocking the magic that lies
inside him and understanding the threads that connect our
lives.
Since the death of her husband Amanda has been a woman on
her own. She gave birth to their daughter alone, she has
raised her alone, and it has just been the two of them ever
since. When she lays eyes on her Dai King her whole world
begins to change. Amanda had never imagined that one man
could be so alluring, so sexy, and so dark all rolled into
one. There is just no way this guy was for real, but like a
prince come to life Dai King brings back feelings that
Amanda were long forgotten. Feelings that every woman should
know, unfortunately Amanda has too many of her own troubles
to add a man into the pile.
The battle for her daughter's
life is an everyday reality, Brigit suffers from a very
strong case of asthma and Amanda must constantly be on her
guard to protect and save her little girl. There is just no
room for Dai in her life at least that is what she keeps
telling herself. Yet Amanda finds that every time she is
with him she wants to see him again. Everything she learns
about him makes her want to know more, but Dai is holding
some very dark secrets. Between the two of them there is
enough grief, pain, and worry to keep their hearts at bay.
Can she risk everything for happiness? Will Dai be willing
to take the same chance on love?
The only complaint that I could make about this book is that
it lacks the luster and steam of Goblin King. So if you are
looking for the romance scenes they are not really here. If
you are looking for more goblins from the Shadowlands, more
Dai, and more falling in love you have come to the right
place. As Dai's story goes I wouldn't have had the book any
other way.
He is like a prince in a fairy tale: tall, outrageously
handsome, and way too dark for her own good. Amanda has been
hurt before, though. And with her daughter's illness, the
last thing she needs right now is a man. But the power of
Dai King is hard to resist. And when he threads his hands
through her hair and pulls her in for a kiss, there is no
denying it feels achingly right.
In a Land of Nightmares...
After being trapped in the Shadowlands for centuries with
the goblin horde a constant threat, Dai revels in his
newfound freedom back in the human realm. But even with the
centuries of magic he's accumulated, he still doesn't know
how to heal Amanda's daughter—and it breaks his heart.
Yet for the woman he loves, he'd risk anything...including a
return to the Shadowlands.
