Maddy is a strong female heroine. She must take control of situations that she is thrown into, seemingly at random at times. Her character is strong, but hasn't changed too much from the last novel in Black Wings series. Satan may be one of the strongest supporting characters. There are unscheduled deaths occurring in the city of Chicago and it is up to Maddy to discover who could be breaking Satan's rules and eluding his inner circle.
