Michael Hurst has earned a living and a reputation discovering priceless artifacts in Egypt. When the needs of investors brings him back to London, he decides to use the trip home to try his hand at searching for a long lost family heir loom, the Hurst Amulet.
One thing he did not expect to discover is the fact that his efficient personal assistant, Miss Jane Smythe-Haughton, is actually a very attractive female and not just someone who knows how he enjoys his tea. Following a new lead on the amulet to Scotland, Michael must keep his mind on the mission and off of Jane's rather attractive attributes.
Jane Smythe-Haughton has been hiding a secret for years. Having to return to the island of her birth for work purposes, is placing everything she has earned while living on her own in jeopardy. Will she have to explain her past to her eccentric employer and how will he take the news that she is basically Scottish royalty?
The Hurst Amulet series continues with another wonderful addition. THE TAMING OF A SCOTTISH PRINCESS is a fun historical ride with characters that have you laughing in all the right places. Michael's usual thought process normally had me in stitches. The manner that uses Jane to deal with him had me laughing out loud. The chemistry between the two characters is magical and really made me fall in love with each of them. When I discovered that I had stumbled on this entertaining series towards the end, I immediately went out and purchased the rest of the books.
When famed Egyptologist Michael Hurst
discovers that the infamous Hurst Amulet is hidden in
Scotland, he insists his trusted assistant, Miss Jane
Smythe-Haughton, accompany him north. Strangely, the usually
unflappable Jane seems perturbed by their destinationโthe
mysterious Isle of Barra. A fascinated Michael watches as
his staid assistant transforms, revealing intriguing layers
of mystery and vulnerability. Could he be about to uncover
not one, but two, precious treasures?
Once her clanโs princess, Jane fled
Barra years ago to avoid a forced marriage. Since then, she
has made her living as efficient Miss Smythe-Haughtonโthe
perfect (and highly paid) assistant. Now she must confront
her secrets . . . including her feelings for her irascible
employer, too-handsome-for-his-own-good Michael Hurst.
Others are also
searching for the missing amulet, however. Can Jane and
Michael learn to trust each other in time to solve two
riddles: the location of the Hurst Amulet, and the meaning
of the vivid passion flaring between them?
