Anna Mendes, a/k/a Anna Perez is undercover for the Sterling Security & Investigations posing as a nanny for 5 year old Spencer Keene. Carter Keene, a movie director and his actress wife Tawny have received threatening notes endangering Spencer.

Annie brings Spencer to join his parents who are filming a horror movie using Beau Soleil, a mansion owned by Picou Dufrene as the backdrop. There Annie immediately notices that one of Picou's sons, Nate, is a tall, long and sexy drink of water. Nate is also a police officer.

Nate and his family have suffered their own tragedy when 5 year old Della was kidnapped and murdered 20 years ago. Nate believes it was his fault and has carried the guilt ever since for his sister's death. Picou has never given up hope that Della is still alive.

Delving into the possibility it's someone on the movie crew holding a vengeance against Carter or Tawny, they attend a party at a night club, hoping that someone will stand out among the crew. What Annie doesn't expect is she and Nate getting caught up in a passion that ends in hot frantic sex; minus a condom, under the outside tiki bar. Both are shocked they have allowed their horniness to override common sense; they are now in fear of a possible pregnancy.

The throes of passion between Annie and Nate are soon recognized for more than just physical attraction but neither believes it can become lasting.
