Henry Beck isn't much of a talker but he can cook. He also has
the friendship and loyalties of the staff at Lunden's
Tavern. Their team has been making its way up the ranks in
the Rising Star Chef Competition (see Some Like It
Hot and Too Hot To Touch). Now only three teams
remain, one of which is led by Skye Gladwell, the wife Henry
hasn't seen in 10 years. Henry never expected to be back in
his home town facing off against his estranged wife. All
Skye wants is a divorce since her current boyfriend may be
about to propose. Beck is thinking about how much he has
always loved her.
Skye was devastated when Henry dropped out of her life after
they experienced a tragic loss. Since then, she's built a
life for herself. She owns her own restaurant, Queenie Pie
Café. She has wonderful friends and has learned to tolerate
her parents. She's lived without Henry for a long time and
plans to continue to do so. Except... the attraction is still
there, and maybe she's never stopped loving him. So she
definitely has mixed emotions when she accepts his bet—if
she wins the competition she gets a divorce, if he wins he
gets one last night with her before giving her the divorce.
