Romance

An identical twin, Willow should feel whole when around her sister, yet she often feels empty, as if something is missing. Her sister, Holly, is happily married with a great career while Willow flounders in the single lane after a failed marriage. Willow will act as the readers' guide throughout the novel, showing the reader the events and people that affected her life to the point where she can laugh out loud.

Rowan Coleman is a very talented writer. She can make the reader truly believe in the characters and grow to love them. The character are unforgettable, they all have such unique outlooks on life and personalities. Willow is the main character and more or less the focus of the story. When her ex-stepdaughter comes to her, begging for help, as well as a few other strays, Willow cannot refuse. However, she is now in contact with her ex, her lusty best male friend, and a new love interest all at once. Is it too much for Willow to handle?

LESSONS IN LAUGHING OUT LOUD is one of those quotable books. The author, through Willow, offers up so much good advice and humorous as well as serious dialogue that the reader will have a hard time forgetting even a small scene in this book. Willow's character is revealed slowly, she is not completely obvious or upfront about her past. The reader will love getting to know Willow slowly as the story progresses, the pieces fall into place like a puzzle. LESSONS IN LAUGHING OUT LOUD is a book a reader should not hesitate to pick up.

SUMMARY

Internationally bestselling author Rowan Coleman delivers a heartwarming new tale about a recent divorcee who finds the courage to tackle her weight issues, her love life, and the dark family secret that has haunted her for years.Willow Briar (known as Will) is thirty-six-years old, five feet two, and a size eighteen. Now that she’s divorced, Will’s social life revolves around her job—working for her demanding talent agent boss Victoria Kincade—and her best friend Daniel Fayre, a successful fashion photographer for whom she harbors a secret crush.

An identical twin, Will has struggled with her self-esteem for years—particularly when she looks at her slim, married, happy sister. One day she finds her luck suddenly turning around after buying a fabulous pair of vintage shoes that make her feel slimmer, taller, and sexier. These shoes seem to have a secret history, and Will starts to wonder if they are a little bit magic.

Little does she know not even a magic eight ball could predict the shocking turn her life is about to take or that the courage she needs to confront her deep-seated issues will require more than a fashion makeover—it will take a life makeover. Armed with newfound confidence to begin her journey, Will finds the courage to face the dark family secrets of her past—and claim the future meant for her.
