Georgia Milton is a widow who has a dream of heading west to working the land. Her life and her dreams become complicated when a man who attempted to save her bag from a thief enters her life. An accident caused the poor fellow to lose his memory and now he thinks his name is Robinson, as in Robinson Crusoe. Determined to care for him until his memory returns, Georgia never counted on the feelings Robinson would ignite in her.
With no memory of being Roderick Gideon Tremayne, also known as the Duke of Wentworth, or the map that brought him to New York, Robinson is content to stay with his savior for the rest of his days. Determined to get Georgia to submit to the passion that blazes between them, Robinson is more worried about his future than he is about a past he can't remember. However, once Robinson gets his memory back, will he and Georgia have a chance at the kind of life as the one he's been envisioning?
Delilah Marvelle's regency take on the rich guy/poor girl theme will be a surefire hit with readers. FOREVER AND A DAY is a Cinderella story that takes place not in a palace during a ball but in the slums of New York, surrounded by thieves and average working class people. This is a refreshing tale that takes us away from London and the ton and puts more emphasis on the characters rather than the society around them and their expectations. I fell in love with Ms. Marvelle's new Rumor series when I read the prequel novella, Forever Mine. FOREVER AND A DAY was a worthy first novel for the series and I can't wait to read the others as they get published. If I did have to say something that I was left disappointed in, it would be that the heroine from Forever Mine is no longer alive and the hero seems to have become a bit of a stuffy bore in FOREVER AND A DAY. My favorite part though was the ending, which I will not giveaway. For that, you'll just have to go pick up your own copy. Happy reading!
