LEFT HAND MAGIC is the second novel of the Golgotham series. Golgotham is a bit of a supernatural hang-out and a seedy one at that. Tate, the main character, lives comfortably in Golgotham alongside the humans, supernaturals, and Kymeras for the most part. All is well in this sanctuary of shady characters until the Sons of Adam arrive and turn everything into chaos. The Sons of Adam are heavily anti-Kymera. The Kymera have always been wary and untrusting of humans and a band of righteous vigilantes does not help the situation. The tension radiates from both sides creating many problems making for a novel packed with action, intrigue, and drama.
Tate's character is likable and easy to connect to. The reader will love following Tate through this very unusual setting. Nancy Collins' descriptions of the supernaturals and Golgotham leave little to the imagination and takes the reader firmly into a world where everything is a little bit different and creates an undercurrent of suspense that will keep the reader on their toes.
Hexe is the love interest. He seems to be fairly perfect for Tate expect for one small problem. His uncle, Esau, is very anti-human. Esau would never look upon the relationship with benevolence and may even react with anger against the two. Can Tate and Hexe find a way around this rather large and influential obstacle?
The reader will love the conflicting romance, mystery, and action in LEFT HAND MAGIC. The world of Golgotham is impossible to forget. Even after placing this book down the reader will want to return and see what happens next.
Located on Manhattan's Lower East Side, Golgotham has been
the city's supernatural ghetto for centuries. Populated by
countless creatures from myth and legend, the neighborhood's
most prominent citizens are the Kymera, a race of witches
who maintain an uneasy truce with New York City's humans...
Tate Eresby has accepted the unusual sights and sounds of
Golgotham and made it her home. Unfortunately, a magazine
has alerted trendsetting hipsters to its existence and
they've descended upon the community-along with an anti-
Kymera faction known as The Sons of Adam. The sudden influx
of tourists escalates racial tensions to a boiling point
when two Kymerans are murdered and rioting fills the
streets.
