Romance Paranormal | Romance Historical

Miranda Ellis is not a happy character. Her odd gift appears to bring her nothing but heartbreak. When she endures yet another disappointment, the loss of her family's fortune, she must make a hard decision. Lord Archer isn't the easiest man to get along with; ornery and grumpy, even he cannot resist Miranda when she needs help. Lord Archer asks for Miranda's hand in marriage and the beginning of a solid partnership begins to take hold. Lord Archer has a right to be ornery, he is badly disfigured on one side of his face from an event the reader will avidly read about. He tends to remain in hiding and refuses to let anyone close, hiding his face from the world. Miranda attempts to coax the stubborn Lord from his shell, but it proves no easy task. When the Lord is accused of murders, Miranda must decide whether to stick by his side or give in to outside pressure. Miranda's character is sympathetic. She doesn't fall in self pity mode when she has every right to and remains a fairly strong female character. The reader will admire her perseverance when it comes to Lord Archer. Lord Archer will tug at the readers' heartstrings. He is the epitome of a sympathetic character and reminiscent of Beauty and the Beast. The events in FIRELIGHT are fast-paced. Miranda thinks on her feet and Lord Archer remains stuck in his ways. The reader will love reading about Lord Archer's slow progression and their relationship. Do not miss this new book from debut author Kristin Callihan!

SUMMARY

London, 1881
Once the flames are ignited . . .

Miranda Ellis is a woman tormented. Plagued since birth by a strange and powerful gift, she has spent her entire life struggling to control her exceptional abilities. Yet one innocent but irreversible mistake has left her family's fortune decimated and forced her to wed London's most nefarious nobleman.

They will burn for eternity . . .
Lord Benjamin Archer is no ordinary man. Doomed to hide his disfigured face behind masks, Archer knows it's selfish to take Miranda as his bride. Yet he can't help being drawn to the flame-haired beauty whose touch sparks a passion he hasn't felt in a lifetime. When Archer is accused of a series of gruesome murders, he gives in to the beastly nature he has fought so hard to hide from the world. But the curse that haunts him cannot be denied. Now, to save his soul, Miranda will enter a world of dark magic and darker intrigue. For only she can see the man hiding behind the mask.
