Although on first glance this book appears to be only a
romance, the novel is far from that. Zeno is a Scotland Yard
Detective. He exhibits a clever mind, enigmatic past, and
handsome face. Cassie, the other hand, is not the typical
Victorian woman. She is brave, brash, and beautiful. She
doesn't conform to any of society's laws or expectations.
The reader will love getting to know these two.
The handsome detective has had a mystery weighing on his
mind for a long time and finally decides to truly go for it.
What he finds instead is Cassie. The two have a bit of
instant attraction and the reader will enjoy their sparking
relationship. As most good mysteries are, AN AFFAIR WITH MR.
KENNEDY contains many twists and surprises that will
definitely take the reader by surprise.
AN AFFAIR WITH MR. KENNEDY reads very well. There are no
awkward moments or events that will leave the reader
confused or wondering about the characters or plot. The
ending is perfect, the reader will be happy. Any mystery or
romance reader should pick up this book.
Detective Zeno “Zak” Kennedy is considered a hero in London
after breaking up a plot against the Crown. But villainy
never sleeps, and he’s now after a ring of Irish anarchists
plotting a bombing campaign. When he discovers that one of
these treacherous lords is acquainted with his new tenant,
widowed Cassie St. Cloud, he sets out to get closer to the
lady. Cassie is no Victorian prude; the daughter of two
prominent doctors, she is a freethinking artist and a
volunteer at a girls’ school. She’s set her sights on her
handsome new landlord, and soon they’re enmeshed in the most
passionate affair of her life. But when she discovers that
their meeting was not purely accidental, will she be able to
forgive him?
