Gabriel has a small dilemma. He loves the enthusiasm of Shirley, Goodness and Mercy, three delightful but not quite angelic angels with a penchant for creating, intentionally or not, a little mischief wherever they went. Now, what assignments could he give them that they could go and not create minor havoc on earth? Three prayers are heard above that needed to be answered and off the angels go doing what they do best.
Lovely respectful Hannah, the joy of her parents, is finally getting close to being married to a nice Jewish teacher when she accidentally bumps into handsome lawyer at the Thanksgiving parade. How could she enjoy the company of the perfect stranger to the point of rethinking her choices for life. Oi Vei! What is she to do?
How can the angels support the lovely young teacher, Brynn Cassidy? She is striving to bring change to the lives of inner city kids. How can they answer her prayer for guidance in helping those who need all the help they can get?
How to get Jenny home to Montana? Her parents and Trey want to see her but she can't go back now that she has so exaggerated her success in what is a dwindling singing career. Will she be able to bring herself to tell them how life in the big city is really turning out for her?
Loving the bright lights and potential of New York City as much as Jenny from Montana, the three angels are thrilled with their new missions. Will their little nudges of a business card here or a car breakdown there work? Will it all blow up in their concerned little faces? How will Gabriel react?
I was thrilled to see Debbie Macomber's updated version of the earthly adventures of Shirley, Goodness and Mercy back in print in time for Christmas! I thought this book was a hoot when it first came out in 1995 and fully enjoyed the updated and revised version. TOUCHED BY ANGELS is just the delightful read you need to curl up with to help relax during the busy festive season or anytime for that matter. We all have had our ups and downs and sometimes, things work out by coincidence or by angelic interference. Who really knows why things happen the way that they do!
