On her way home after selling the cabin her late-husband loved, Lisa Palmer stops for gas -- and becomes a key witness to murder as four bikers rob an armored car, killing the guards, as well as the off-duty FBI agent who is right beside her. Even though Lisa insists she never saw the killer's face, the FBI agent in charge of the investigation, Frank Morrow, is sure there is something she can remember to help solve the case.
When an anonymous tipster gives hot-shot journalist Jack Gannon a small piece of vital information to the armored car heist, it will take all the investigative skills Jack possesses to follow the thread that could lead to the story of a lifetime. Finding out there is a key witness the FBI doesn't want anyone to know about just adds to his interest even more. Locating her is a priority for Jack.
Thinking they have gotten away with the perfect crimes, the killers are shocked to learn the FBI has a witness. It's impossible; they planned it out perfectly. What could she have seen? They have no choice but to eliminate her.
This story is an edge-of-your-seat thriller with great characterization and plotline. I could not put it down and am looking for other works by this author.
