Since the death of her parents, Madeleine Niteclif's grief
was unbearable until she felt compelled to travel to England
and find Stonehenge, a place where wishes come true. Too
bad she didn't pay attention to the old adage to be careful
what you wish for. Maddy's wish for an alternate reality
reveals her inheritance. She is a descendant of Sherlock
Holmes, but not the fictional
detective, but a man of living flesh. Maddy comes from a
long line of detectives who investigate and bring justice to
the supernatural community. With the acceptance of her
family duty, Maddy inherits certain abilities that will help
with the bizarre and exciting investigations.
To discover her sidekick, her Watson, is Bahlin, a
shapeshifting dragon, can't be worse than learning that
there are all manner of supernatural beings inhabiting the
human realm. For years Bahlin has waited for his partner
and mate. Gaining her trust is not an easy task, especially
since he's holding back important information for her own
safety. Being in the middle of both a dragon and a royal
fae vying for her attention takes a backseat to the fact
that one of the supernaturals wants Maddy dead. Topping it
off, there is an enraged wizard who is stalking her. Pretty
soon Maddy doesn't know who to trust and must rely on her
own wits and the help of her dead ancestor to stay alive.
Maddy is the most imperfect heroine I've ever had the
pleasure of meeting. She made me laugh and cry while her
counterpart is a charming bad boy.
A perfect blend of humor, suspense, and nonstop action kept
me glued to the pages of LEGACY. The intricate plotting
made it hard to detect the villain which made for a surprise
ending. I hated for this book to end and for a debut book,
that is saying a lot. I urge paranormal lovers to run out
and purchase this book. You won't be sorry except for having
to wait for the next chapter in the life of Maddy Niteclif.
Looking back on the wish she made on Midsummer’s Eve, Maddy
Niteclif should have been more specific. She only wanted to
escape the shadowy nightmares that plagued her nights, not
to be thrust into a completely altered reality.
If a strangely familiar, sexy dragon-shifter named Bahlin,
who causes a never-to-be-mentioned-again fainting spell,
isn’t enough to make her question her sanity, his insistence
she’s the Niteclif ought to do the job. Prophesied super-
sleuth of the supernatural world—a world that desperately
needs her help—isn’t a job she’s remotely qualified for no
matter what her family tree says.
Catapulted into a very different London ruled by dark
mythology, mystery and murder, Maddy makes a few startling
discoveries. Paranormal creatures exist. Getting shot really
sucks. And her body responds remarkably well to dragon magic
—in more ways than simple wound healing.
But in this kill-or-be-killed world, reality bites. And
Maddy must choose to go back to what she knows…or stay and
fight for the man she knows she can’t live without.
Warning: This book contains a shape-shifting dragon with a
Scottish accent, modern and archaic weapons, global inter-
species politics that make democracy seem mild, some very
steamy sex underground, a severed head, murder, and…oh yeah…
a woman caught in the middle of it all.
