Kaitlyn hasn't had much in her life that was worth loving. When her niece is abducted, Kaitlyn will use her skills as a detective to follow her to Aurora, CA. There she will work with Det. Tom Cavelli.
Tom grew up in the large Cavelli family. He is still reeling from the news that his father is actually a Cavanaugh. He is dealing with the name change and the fact that he is related to half of the department and the chief of detectives. He is thrilled to be helping Detective Two Feathers find the missing child, even given the two weeks she promised the mother.
Tom and Kaitlyn will get off to a rough start since she carries a large chip on her shoulder and doesn't like needing Tom's help. As the two work together, they will discover a very strong attraction and some interesting family dynamics. Kaitlyn isn't used to such a large family and the acceptance she receives from the Cavanaugh clan astound her.
Ms. Ferrarella has done a good job continuing the Cavanaugh saga. A master storyteller, her characters are engaging and the story will keep the reader rooting for the two as they search for the missing girl.
