The third book of the Royal House of Shadows series, LORD OF WOLFYN was every bit as dark, deep, and sensual as the others! I first want to recommend reading this stunning series in order as they were meant to be read. While each book could stand on its own, I believe that the power of all four read as a series is worth it.
LORD OF WOLFYN brings us to Dayn's story and the intense story of Red Riding Hood as I have never read it before. The story starts off with the desperate search for a book. When Jane was a child before her mother died she gave Alfreda a fairy tale book Red Riding Hood. Reda's mother told her that when the time was right the book would hold meaning for her and that she would be the key to the story. Reda's imagination soars into the story and she finds herself transported into a land that appears to be right off the pages. However, Reda has actually been pulled through the realms to aide a lost prince and lead him home. Reda has never been brave and the creatures she finds all around her are enough for her to run for cover. Can she become the warrior that Dayn needs or will she run away before fulfilling her destiny?
Dayn has secrets that he has never been able to share. He has hidden his true self from the people who have sheltered him for the past twenty years. Dayn has never allowed anyone to know who and what he really has become. The time has come for him to return home and fight for his people. Yet he knows that only by accepting himself will he be able to achieve greatness. Afraid of his feelings for Reda, Dayn knows that the secrets he holds may destroy the fragile relationship they have forged together. Can he accept the demons within himself? Or will acceptance come at too high a cost...the loss of Reda?
I loved the fast paced nature of this book. Reda and Dayn were on the run from the get go and really had to forge their bond while running for their lives. Relationships like this are often rushed, however that wasn't the case in this book. I thought that Reda's fears were holding her back enough to make the bond stronger and make Dayn have to fight with himself and her to get anywhere. I loved watching Reda grow into herself. In the beginning she was so disheartened by her past actions that she didn't see any further than what had happened. Dayn also had his inner beasts to conquer. His struggles to come to terms with what he was, what he had been, and who he had become were fascinating. I think that some part of all of us struggles with the past and Dayn's struggles made him all the more real. The inner struggles of both characters were immense, but watching them both overcome their fears was quite enjoyable. LORD OF WOLFYN was yet another stunning and steamy addition to the Royal House of Shadows series!
Once upon a timeβ¦the Blood Sorcerer vanquished the kingdom
of Elden.
To save their children, the queen scattered them to safety
and the king filled them with vengeance.
Only a magical timepiece connects the four royal heirsβ¦and
time is running out.β¦
For practical Reda Weston, nothing could explain how reading
a sexy version of Little Red Riding Hood catapulted her into
another realmβface-to-fang with the legendary wolf-creature
who seduced women. A wolf who transformed into a dark,
virile manβ¦.
Dayn cursed the Sorcerer that turned him wolfyn and damned
him to a lonely fate. As a beast, he mated with women to
gain strength. Strength he needed to save Elden. But as a
man, he craved Reda's heated, sizzling touch. With little
time left, Dayn had to either embrace his wolf to save his
kingdomβ¦or fight it to save his woman.
