Fiction Family Life

Tucked away on Thailand's picturesque island of Ko Phi Phi lies a quaint getaway called Rainbow Resort. Nestled in among its beautiful surroundings is Patch, an American tourist running away from his past. When a regrettable incident causes him to head for cover, he comes upon the resorts' owners Lek and Sarai who desperately need help. In exchange for room and board, Patch begins a new life and becomes much more to the family than just the hired handyman. When Patch's older brother Ryan, along with his girlfriend Brooke, set foot on the island in hopes of rescuing him, the breeze of change abruptly disrupts Patch's idyllic new life. Despite being a fugitive from the law, Patch has no intention of turning himself in. As the two headstrong men come face to face, the brothers firmly plant their feet in the sand. As the battle of wills slowly begins to brew, Patch can't help but notice his feelings of attraction for Brooke. When a tumultuous exchange erupts between the angered brothers, Rainbow Resort is put in jeopardy. As the moment of judgment draws near, Patch must decide if he is willing to risk his relationships with Lek's and Sarai's family, Brooke, and his devoted brother Ryan in order to maintain his freedom. CROSS CURRENTS is the fifth novel by the gifted author John Shors. His intensive research process makes his vibrant writing come alive as he takes the reader to exotic locales making his characters truly unforgettable. His attention to details of the local flavor set his stories apart as not only fascinating tales, but also lessons in world culture. Shors' advocacy for international causes clearly establishes his place as one of the most humanitarian voices in fiction today.
