It seems Cat and Bones can't catch a break. Even though they have stopped a civil war between paranormal entities, a new dilemma has presented itself. The ghost of Heinrich Kramer, the leading witch hunter of his day, has been targeting females to brutally murder on All Hallows Eve. He has been unobstructed for centuries but this year one factor has changed. Cat Crawfield knows who he is and what he has been doing.
ONE GRAVE AT A TIME starts off immediately where the series ended in the last book. Cat is dealing with the losses from the battle and the change of leadership over her old team at the compound. If having to figure out how to kill someone who has been dead for centuries isn't enough to deal with, it seems the government has thrown a wrench in her life in the form of Jason Madigan, who presents himself as a operations consultant. He proves to be nothing but a thorn in Cat's side.
The newest addition to the Night Huntress series continues to provide us with the humor, action, and the steaminess fans have fallen in love with in the past books. We get to see most of the characters we can't live without, with the exception of Mencheres and Vlad. The adventures the readers anticipate when reading one of Jeaniene's books are present, and then some. The character interaction is priceless, especially when you add Ian in the mix. The most memorable new character introduced would have to be flamboyant medium Tyler, who seems to have a liking for super attractive vampires and isn't afraid to show it. The fans of the series will not be disappointed with the continuation of the story and will most likely be begging for more.
