When Lindsey Hall tries to commit suicide, her dad, the Vice President of the United States, decides to send her to a secluded ranch in west Texas. Her drug and alcohol addiction has been treated many times with no success. This time the VP hires a doctor with a holistic approach and sends a team of six Secret Service Agents to accompany Lindsey.

Ash Zinders is the SAIC (Special Agent in Charge) at the ranch. Meghan Connors has been hand-picked for this duty by the VP himself because of her bravery in the line of duty while protecting him from a would-be assassin in Atlanta. Ash does not like to work with women and makes that clear to Meghan from the very beginning. But Meghan is strong and out to prove she can do the job as well as any man.

In the first couple of weeks they are at the ranch, Lindsey's car is blown up in DC and someone tries to break into the VP's home. Meghan is not sure who else on their team she can trust. It appears someone is leaking information outside. Finally, she confides in Ash and he agrees that something bigger is afloat than just getting Lindsey clean and back into society. Meghan and Ash begin working as a team to get to the bottom of this mystery.
