Short-order cook Jazz Lenox has secrets. One is that years
ago she gave birth to twin red-headed babies. But she gave
them up for adoption. So when she run into a pair of
children who could be hers, and encounters their sexy uncle
Matt Caminetti, she vows to stay away. All she ever wanted
was for her babies to have a good life. If these are her
twins—and they may not be—she doesn't want to interfere with
their lives.
But the Caminetti family is hard to avoid once they've taken
a shine to you, as Jazz soon learns, beginning with the
persistent Matt. Interim high school athletic director and
youth soccer coach Matt is taken with Jazz from their first
meeting, and giving up on getting to know her isn't in his
vocabulary. Jazz, however, wants to keep her past—all of it
—in the past.
I expected a good, pleasant read. In TWICE THE CHANCE, I
got a great one.
Darlene Gardner weaves an intriguing story in superb
fashion. Every word adds value. Every plot twist turns
back on itself and leads to another twist. The Caminetti
family as well as the other unique characters are real and
believable and add depth to an already strong storyline.
Gardner ties them all together in a surprising, more than
satisfying read.
Jazz Lenox had her reasons for giving up her babies for
adoption. So she can't burst into their lives after eight
years. Yet there's no doubt these kids are hers. No one
could mistake that unique hair.
She knows she should walk away. Especially when she meets
the twins' uncle—sexy, shoot-from-the-hip Matt Caminetti.
But how does she leave a man who's so persistent…and so
ruggedly appealing? Most surprising of all, Matt believes in
her. Believes in them. A future together means coming clean
about her past. All of it. It's the only way to find out if
she really has a second shot at the life she's always wanted….
