Tara Taylor Quinn is a prolific author of fiction, but with the writing of IT HAPPENED ON MAPLE STREET she has tipped her writing pen into the well of NON-fiction. IT HAPPENED ON MAPLE STREET is a story of first love gone awry for a variety of reasons. I believe many of us will find ourselves feeling for Tim and Tara and the miscommunications that were a factor in causing the two to break up.
What comes through the pages is that even though Tim and Tara spent many years apart their brains and their hearts never truly forgot one another, and when an opportunity presented itself for them to reconnect they seized it. Not with the intention of becoming a couple, but with the intent of being able to renew a friendship and enjoying the benefits of having a close friend. That the relationship blossomed into what it now was not an unwelcome event, but one that was embraced with new understandings: about communication, that they were not the same people, and that they must move forward as they are now not focus on shared memories. This review is a bit hard to write because I worry about spoilers, but having heard Ms. Quinn speak of her love story. I don't feel I have given away things that she herself hasn't said to many of her fans.
Having met Ms. Quinn on numerous occasions and heard her inspirational story, I was quite excited to read IT HAPPENED ON MAPLE STREET and get Tim's side...I was not disappointed. If you are a fan of Ms. Quinn's fiction then you should not miss her own true love story..IT HAPPENED ON MAPLE STREET.
