I have to admit I started MINE UNTIL MORNING with certain
expectations. When the description of a Harlequin Blaze
indicates that a blackout leads to a couple discovering
"endless temptations in the dark," my assumption is that the
man and woman will spend most of the blackout in bed (or
some variation thereof). So, I was pleasantly surprised to
discover that Jonas Berringer and Tessa Rose have quite a
few blackout related (non-sexual) adventures as they race
through town to help a friend and try to sort out what they
mean to each other.
Jonas and Tessa first met when he was hired by her father,
Senator Rose, to protect her from a political threat. His
presence at her shop quickly sparked an intense attraction.
The moment of distraction that occurred when they finally
succumbed resulted in an attack
that left Jonas blind. They have stayed away from each
other since then but now Senator Rose needs Jonas' help to
protect Tessa. Using his blindness as the reason he needs
her "help," Tessa shows up at Jonas' apartment just as a
storm results in a citywide blackout. They will rely on
each other to get through the night in more ways than one.
Jonas and Tessa make a great couple. Both are strong
individuals with caring hearts who struggle with trusting in
the love the other offers. We meet Jonas' brothers, one of
whom gets a fairly substantial subplot involving an old
flame. Both story-lines have plenty of heat and emotion to
keep you reading until the last page is turned.
Hear.Smell.Touch.Taste.
Tessa Rose is intoxicating to bodyguard Jonas Berringer. But
not simply because she has an intimate knowledge of
aphrodisiac scents. Nor is it because she's forbidden fruit:
a client, the boss's daughter. Though both things help....
but Jonas thinks he has nothing to offer Tessa, not after a
moment of lost focus cost Jonas his sight. But when Tessa
and Jonas find themselves alone during a blackout, they
discover endless temptations in the dark. Until morning,
they'll just have to trust their other, heightened senses to
see them through...
