Young Adult Paranormal | Young Adult Adventure

INVINCIBLE is the second book in this spectacular new series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Readers have read about Nick Gautier throughout Kenyon's other books and time and again have asked or begged for Nick's story. Here it is, and I am excited to say I have fallen in love with Nick all over again. I love his sassy attitude, sheer stubborn will, and the fact that this younger Nick is still sweet and innocent. The Chronicles of Nick has been a much anticipated series and every reader's heart has been granted its wish with this stunning saga. Kenyon has broken new ground creating this young adult series to add another notch in her belt. I am completely captivated by the Chronicles of Nick and most especially pleased that I have a series I can share with my son. Kenyon just keeps getting better and better with every page!

INVINCIBLE picks up right where Infinity left off. The zombie threat has ended and young Nick is just beginning to understand his powers and how the world works. For a boy of fourteen, life should not be any more complicated than girlfriends, football, and homework, right? But when you are surrounded by preternatural beings trying to kill you or protect you (or who sometimes seem to be pushing for a little of both), life can be one big mess. Of course it doesn't help that his mom works for a Were Sanctuary posing as a bar, or that his new boss has fangs, and does he have a girlfriend or not?

School is a whole other story. The jocks are still mocking him and his horrific Hawaiian shirt, but suddenly the girls seem to be coming out of nowhere. As if that wasn't enough, then there is the new principal who is even scarier than the last and the new football coach is one great big piece of work. Get this- Nick is being blackmailed into "borrowing" personal items from different students for the new coach. Which has Nick wondering just what exactly the new guy is up to.

In his free time, as if there was any, Nick is busy learning his new powers from Grim and Caleb. This seems to be the least of Nick's worries. Yet it is those same lessons that seem to be saving his life time and time again. Some of the friends that Nick thought he had all appear to have ulterior motives and Nick is getting hit from all sides. Just who is a guy to trust? The demons he knows or the demons that are hiding right before his eyes? Running for your life, discovering that he just may be the end of the world, and getting kissed all in the same day... just a typical day in the life of Nick Gautier.

SUMMARY

Just when he thought things couldn’t get any worse...

Nick Gautier’s day just keeps getting better and better. Yeah, he survived the zombie attacks, only to wake up and find himself enslaved to a world of shapeshifters and demons out to claim his soul.

His new principal thinks he’s even more of a hoodlum than the last one, his coach is trying to recruit him to things he can’t even mention and the girl he’s not seeing, but is, has secrets that terrify him.

But more than that, he’s being groomed by the darkest of powers and if he doesn’t learn how to raise the dead by the end of the week, he will become one of them...
