Into the cold, wintry night, and with her husband's family
in pursuit, the beautiful and wealthy Lady Eleanor flees
her home on the eve of her husband's death. Having already
been forced into two marriages in order to boost her
father's alliances, she knows she has no hope of escaping
yet another abusive marriage. Her fortune is too highly
prized. Overcome with exhaustion, she takes sanctuary in a
chapel belonging to the Laird of Kinfairlie and is
discovered the next morning as the laird's sisters arrive
for morning services.
The sisters recognize Eleanor's fear and persuade her to
trust them. If only Eleanor had a new husband who could
protect and provide for her, someone loving and kind,
unlike her previous two husbands. The sisters suggest their
brother, Alexander, Laird of Kinfairlie, but Eleanor agrees
only to meet him. She has no reason to trust any man and
will keep her true identity and her fortune a secret for as
long as she can. Alexander has a gentle smile and a merry
laugh that makes Eleanor want to know more of him, but
other men also had moments of charm until her fortune was
secured. She dares not trust him, yet her heart feels a tug
at his consistently gentle behavior and the genuine respect
all have for him.
Alexander knows he's spent too much time with his ledgers
worrying over their sorrowful state. His inability to bring
even the slightest smile to Eleanor is proof enough that
he's become dull and out of practice. What begins as a
challenge to make her smile, soon turns to deep affection
and caring. But Alexander's sisters have a plan of their
own to repay him for his heavy-handed approach to their
marriages. Although they are now happily married, they want
Alexander to taste his own medicine. But will their well-
intended intervention break the fragile trust these two
have only just begun to create?
Scene set-up and tension at the opening of this last in a
trilogy guarantee you won't want to put it down until
you've read the last page. The hero truly romances the
heroine, and their dialogue and interaction is well-
balanced, making them characters you'll long remember and
love. The sisters of the hero add a nice touch of mischief
to the tale, giving it the perfect blend of humor, conflict
and romance. THE SNOW WHITE BRIDE is a wonderful conclusion
to a beautifully written trilogy that began with THE BEAUTY
BRIDE and THE ROSE RED BRIDE. Many will think this the best
of the three.
Lady Eleanor knows better than to dream of romance and love.
Married twice to secure her father's alliances, she has
learned that she is desirable only for her fortune. When the
Laird of Kinfairlie's sisters ask her to wed their brother,
Alexander, Eleanor agrees, expecting only to save herself
from danger. But Alexander is like no man she's known
before, a man more interested in courting her smile that her
obedience, a man who values her counsel as much as her newly
awakened passion... and a man unaware that Eleanore is the
key to a fortune that could ensure the future of everything
he holds dear. Now, ruthless enemies will stop at nothing to
secure Eleanor's capture. WIll she dare to trust her new
husband before it's too late for her, for Alexander, and for
Kinfairlie?
