Young Adult Paranormal | Young Adult Suspense

Born into a family of talented witches on Halloween Night, one might suspect that Tamsin Greene inherited some powerful Talent. Sadly, Tamsin was raised from birth knowing she had no Talent at all. Nothing at all special to set her apart in a family with so much spark. Then one day Tamsin learned three things: 1, that she could stop anyone from using their Talent to harm her; 2, if someone attempts to use their Talent against her three times, Tamsin can absorb that talent temporarily; and 3, at some point Tamsin will have to make the hardest choice imaginable to save her family from annihilation. When an enemy attacks her family, Tamsin is forced to time- travel back to 1887 and infiltrate the Knight family. The Knights want nothing less than total control over the Greenes and New York City, but why stop with their up-and- coming city? They have their eye on the Oval Office and have a plan to entrench themselves there, as well. Led by a powerful matriarch known as "La Spider," the Knights want it all and will stop at nothing to get it. Tamsin has no trouble locating the Knights; they are the most powerful family in town and she soon procures a job with them posing as a ladies maid. Her own family is much more difficult to locate and even after finding them, are just as difficult to convince that she means them no harm and that they might want to give her a hand if they plan on any future generations of Greenes. On a dark and stormy night, with all the players assembled and a human sacrifice in place, Tamsin finally realizes what her part in her family's prophecy is, why she has been chosen, and what she will have to give up to save her family. ALWAYS A WITCH, the follow-up to ONCE A WITCH, more than holds its own. Tamsin is a force-of-nature kind of heroine and plunges into the past without hesitation and alone to confront her enemy and save her family. Luckily, not everyone Tamsin loves lets her make all the choices, and Gabriel is not far behind her. Along with Gabriel and her ancestors, Tamsin and the Greenes prove to be more than a match for the evil duplicitous Knights.

SUMMARY

Since the gripping conclusion of Once a Witch, Tamsin Greene has been haunted by her grandmother’s prophecy that she will soon be forced to make a crucial decision — one so terrible that it could harm her family forever. When she discovers that her enemy, Alistair Knight, went back in time to Victorian-era New York in order to destroy her family, Tamsin is forced to follow him into the past. Stranded all alone in the nineteenth century, Tamsin soon finds herself disguised as a lady’s maid in the terrifying mansion of the evil Knight family, avoiding the watchful eye of the vicious matron, La Spider, and fending off the advances of Liam Knight. As time runs out, both families square off in a thrilling display of magic. And to her horror, Tamsin finally understands the nature of her fateful choice.
