A WEREWOLF IN MANHATTAN is the first book in Vick Lewis Thompson's new Wild About You series.
Writer Emma Gavin is getting ready to go on tour to promote her next werewolf novel. Life should be very good but, the fact is, she's burned out from recent deadlines, unsatisfied in her current relationship, and worried about an obsessive fan. Things start to look up though when hunky Aidan Wallace is assigned to accompany her on the tour for added security. The smart, thoughtful, protective, and super sexy male might make the perfect hero for her next book. So Emma decides to spend as much time as possible with him during the trip...all in the name of research of course.
Aidan is member of a prominent werewolf family, a family that is concerned about the accuracy of author Emma Gavin's novels. Aidan's job is to find out whether Emma is getting inside information from another werewolf or if it is pure coincidence. The only problem is that every time he gets near the woman he wants her. The fact that she's a human and that he has a responsibility to mate with an important member of another pack means he can't act on his attraction to her. So when he finds himself accompanying her on her book tour to keep her safe from a crazy fan that may possibly be a werewolf, it will take all his control to keep their relationship strictly professional.
A WEREWOLF IN MANHATTAN is a cute paranormal romance that is sure to entertain fans of the genre. With likable characters and a light-hearted plot, it is the perfect way to unwind from a stressful day. Emma's unending curiosity makes for numerous laugh-at-loud moments, and Aidan's fierce protectiveness will leave every woman with a serious crush. The sex scenes are hot, but even they remain light due to Aidan's tendency to begin to shape-shift when he becomes aroused. The story doesn't contain a lot of action or suspense but instead focuses on the development of the relationship between Emma and Aidan. Thompson does a good job of painting a unique werewolf world, and I hope she continues to develop it in the next installment in the series. Overall the book is a funny paranormal romp that will leave you smiling.
