NOT THAT KIND OF GIRL

Romance Contemporary

NOT THAT KIND OF GIRL, the final book in Susan Donovan's Dog Walkers trilogy, brings back Roxanne Bloom and Eli Gallagher. She's transferred her man-hating ways to Lilith, her pit-bull-boxer. He is the dog whisperer who may be the last hope for preventing a death sentence when Lilith bites Roxie's sleazy ex-boyfriend after he breaks into her home and threatens Roxie. Eli seizes his chance to reform both Lilith's and Roxie's man-hating ways and explore a relationships with a women with whom he has a long simmering attraction.

NOT THAT KIND OF GIRL brings back all the favorite characters seen in The Night She Got Lucky and Ain't Too Proud To Beg. Not having read the other books in the series (though I plan to change that ASAP), I can say that the story stands on its own. I suspect fans will find this book a satisfying ending to the series. Ms. Donovan has created a love story that elicits a range of reactions from the reader- laughter, anger, tears, and smiles. Roxie's rage against men was understandable and was balanced by her love for her friends and Lilith. I was touched by Eli's patient understanding of both Roxie and Lilith in the midst of his own personal quest to find his father. This book will keep you reading late in to the night and rooting for happy endings all around.

SUMMARY

Roxanne Bloom is through with love. Fresh on the heels of a bad break-up, sheโ€™s decided to devote all her time to her man-slamming websiteโ€”and her man-hating dog, Lilith. But this pit-bull-Boxer is so good at unleashing her fury (and her ownerโ€™s) that the male victims keep piling upโ€ฆand now itโ€™s time to get some sensitivity training. Enter Eli Gallagher, one of the bestโ€”and hottestโ€”canine experts in town.ย The more Eli gets to know Roxie, the more he senses that sheโ€™s been hurt by men in the pastโ€”just like her dog. With a little gentle prodding, and a whole lot of patience, Eli hopes to gain Roxieโ€™s trust and soothe her broken heart. Eli can see that Roxieโ€™s bark is way worse than her bite. But sheโ€™s not putting her guard down just yetโ€”even if she is falling deeply, madly, doggedly in love with him...ย
