Romance Contemporary

WHISPER FALLS, the third book in the Destiny series, was my introduction to author Toni Blake. I so thoroughly enjoyed this contemporary romance that I have added the first two books to my must read list. I can't wait to find out how the stories of the people of Destiny started.

A chronic illness forced Tessa Sheridan to give-up a great life in the big city to return to her hometown of Destiny to take care of herself and be closer to family and friends. Tessa bought a house and settled in only to have a promised job fall through. Now she's struggling to get an interior design business off the ground with little success while working part-time at her friend Amy's bookstore to pay the bills. She would never have guessed that her first design job would come from Destiny's prodigal son and tattooed biker dude, Lucky Romo.

Lucky had left Destiny fifteen years early without a word to his family. Now he's back, setting up shop and living up the hill from Tessa. He hasn't let his family know he's home, but it's only a matter of time since his beautiful neighbor and interior designer is his brother's fiancée's best friend. Can this former bad-boy find love, forgiveness, and happiness in his own home town? Does he deserve it?

Tessa and Lucky make a great couple. She's looking for a life of joy and passion, with a little touch of wild. He's a tender-hearted man in the big, hot, tattooed body of a former biker-gang member. He needs love and acceptance, though he wouldn't ask for it. Ms. Blake has written a compelling story in which the tension comes from familiar personal, emotional, and relationship struggles. I kept reading late into the night to see how the characters would come to terms with themselves and each other, while I rooted for that happy ending. I'm glad to know there are at least three more books in the series.

SUMMARY

Tessa Sheridan came crawling back home to Destiny after her big city interior design career crumbled. Now not only must she struggle to make ends meet, she has to contend with a biker next door and the roar of Harleys shattering the serenity of her cabin in the woods. Worse still, her sexy bad boy neighbor makes her feel breathless and weak— and shy, petite Tessa knows what a major mistake it would be to get involved with someone so…dangerous.

They say that former teen rebel Lucky Romo has a dark, secret past—that he’s trouble with a capital “T.” Still, Tessa feels all tingly when she sees how well he fills out a pair of tight jeans. And when Lucky invites her into his world, she knows the intense heat sparking between them could lead her somewhere wild and wonderful…and, yes, dangerous!
