Young Adult Paranormal

Sixteen-year-old Clara Gardner has known for two years that she is a Quartarius, a quarter-angel, as is her brother Jeffrey. Their human father and half-angel mother are divorced and their father now lives in New York.

Clara's time has come to experience her purpose as an angel- blood, and she has just experienced her first "vision" of a boy standing in the middle of the forest threatened by a huge forest fire. Her visions prompt the three to move from California to Wyoming, where Clara's visions are set. Here she meets Angela, another half-angel, and becomes friends. Together they learn to understand and experience the true meaning of their fate and purpose in life.

Saving Christian Prescott appears to be Clara's purpose, even though she falls in love with Tucker Avery, a rodeo cowboy who attends her school and is brother to her best friend. The supernatural powers tend to get out of control and Clara's true purpose becomes unidentifiable as she becomes further engrossed in searching for the truth.

UNEARTHLY is a heartwarming story of a teenager learning to cope with the supernatural powers bestowed upon her, and how she separates them from her everyday life. Your heart will go out to her as she is conflicted between good and evil, as well as right and wrong. The lasting effect it will have upon the person she loves clouds her decision. I found the topic most interesting and full of amusing situations Clara finds herself in during her experimentations. I would welcome other creations by this author.

SUMMARY

In the beginning, there\'s a boy standing in the trees . . . .

Clara Gardner has recently learned that she\'s part angel. Having angel blood run through her veins not only makes her smarter, stronger, and faster than humans (a word, she realizes, that no longer applies to her), but it means she has a purpose, something she was put on this earth to do. Figuring out what that is, though, isn\'t easy.

Her visions of a raging forest fire and an alluring stranger lead her to a new school in a new town. When she meets Christian, who turns out to be the boy of her dreams (literally), everything seems to fall into place—and out of place at the same time. Because there\'s another guy, Tucker, who appeals to Clara\'s less angelic side.

As Clara tries to find her way in a world she no longer understands, she encounters unseen dangers and choices she never thought she\'d have to make—between honesty and deceit, love and duty, good and evil. When the fire from her vision finally ignites, will Clara be ready to face her destiny?

Unearthly is a moving tale of love and fate, and the struggle between following the rules and following your heart.
