Romance Contemporary

Carrie Stanfield, an investigative journalist, believes in what she can prove, so she is skeptical when she is warned about her latent psychic ability. However, the telekinesis has made itself known, and it is destroying her life. She reaches out to Patrick McKay, the man who told her this was bound to happen, and he offers her a job. Their first assignment takes them to the Bahamas. Fun in the sun with a handsome man, even if it is her boss, seems perfect. Unfortunately, Patrick is not the carefree man she remembers. In fact, he refuses to touch people, an odd behavior for an empath who relies on his sense of touch. While solving their assignment, Carrie is determined to get to the bottom of the mystery surrounding Patrick. What changed him? What is she willing to sacrifice to find out the truth?

Patrick McKay, the empath extraordinaire, works for a paranormal investigative agency. His first glimpse of Carrie when she comes to interview him touches him and, upon closer inspection, she intrigues him further. Too bad their meeting was so fleeting, but he knows that she will eventually seek him out again. He never expected so much to have changed in the meantime, and that his ability to touch would be compromised. While he is quite capable of handling their current assignment, he is not sure that he is ready to handle Carrie. Her constant presence cannot be ignored, and her body cries out for him to touch it. What made him think that he could help train her to handle her telekinesis? What is he willing to sacrifice to be able to touch Carrie at his whim?

Michelle Rowen creates a sexy, flirty romance with a supernatural flair. Carrie and Patrick have a brief history together and those few moments cement their attraction to one another. Though they are not meant to be at that point in time, they are brought back together, this time with more complications and another bridge to cross before there is any hope of a future together. I loved the idea of a paranormal assessment agency that investigates possible events and helps alleviate the problems. I was enchanted by the electrifying chemistry that sparks between Carrie and Patrick and the mystery surrounding their current circumstances. TOUCH AND GO is filled with paranormal ruckus, magical encounters, and romantic ramblings - all the makings of a great read. Ms. Rowen certainly knows how to charm her readers with a delicious story.
