Romance Historical

Duncan MacAlphin is one of four men on a mission to re-instate Scotland's one true king to the throne, which puts him at odds with the current king and his army. Now he's running for his life while shackled to a gorgeous woman the false king wants equally dead. While not willing to trust his fellow captive with details of his mission, Duncan would love to know exactly why the king wants her dead; though he's more intrigued by the woman herself, and all the things he wants to do to her. Being chained to her is making it extremely difficult for Duncan to remember he is, above all things, a chivalrous gentleman.

Mercy knows exactly why the king wants her dead, but that isn't a secret she's willing to share with a stranger, even if he is as protective a stranger as Duncan. Mercy's one goal is to gain freedom and never have it taken away again, but being chained to a certain Scotsman is making her re-evaluate her plans. All her life, Mercy's mother warned her about the perils of love but, with such temptation at her side, Mercy's not sure she can hold out for long. When Mercy's secret comes out, it may make the decision on whether she stays with Duncan or not for her.

BOUND TO A WARRIOR is the first in a new series by Donna Fletcher featuring four brothers who are on a mission to re-instate the true king to Scotland's throne. You're plunged into the action from the first sentence and things keep rolling from there. When not fleeing from the king's men and trying to get free, our lead pair are steaming up the pages with their sexual tension.

BOUND TO A WARRIOR is a thrilling start to what looks to be an engaging, intriguing, and dangerous series. I can't wait for more installments in this series, though I will have to wait until June 2011, since that is when the next book is due. I'm dying to know who the real king is, and I'm sure you will be too.

SUMMARY

It has been prophesied that four men, raised as brothers, will bring Scotland back to her rightful glory. The first is running for his life.

Charged with the restoration of Scotland's one true king, Duncan MacAlpin isn't surprised to find himself fleeing an army across the verdant hills of his homeland. But having to do so while shackled to a woman . . . that is a true challenge to Duncan's ingenuity and self-control. For the lovely, untouched maiden he's chained to is far too captivating to resist.

Despite her innocence, Mercy guards her own dangerous secrets. Proud and unafraid—hunted and imperiled for who she is and what she knows—she is determined to regain her freedom and never let it be taken from her again. Yet locked so tightly to her imposed escort, tempted by the warmth of the powerful Highlander's body, she aches to give herself over completely to desire . . . and risk the heart she has fought so hard to protect.
