Once her best friend and cousin Faith's wedding is
successfully blessed, Megan West has some plans of her own.
After all Las Vegas has lots of shops, museums and other
sights to fill this librarian's weekend. But first she has
to make sure that this wedding goes off without a hitch.
With her organization skills, she feels optimistic. She has
planned for any and all contingencies... except one. When
the best man's grandson, Logan, crashes the
wedding thinking Buddy is the groom, Megan takes charge.
Or at least, she tries. Not an easy task with this group
doing their best to challenge her and put a kibosh on what
should have been a perfect wedding.
Megan's life is filled with things she loves, including a
father who has showered her with love since her mother's
death when she was just two. Megan is totally flummoxed when
she overhears a discussion between her father and uncle that
suggests her mother is actually alive and well. Faced with
the possibility that her life is based on lies, she runs
into the last person she wants to see. Logan
not only calms her but ultimately becomes her
reluctant partner in the search for her mother.
As the story unfolds Megan finds herself emotionally
distancing herself from the very people she has trusted her
entire life, certain they are all part of a conspiracy.
Oddly, she begins to trust Logan, a virtual stranger. His
background as a cop could prove beneficial investigating
but the more time spends with him the more Megan is aware
of an undeniable chemistry and attraction.
Logan is having an internal struggle over his involvement
with yet another damsel in distress. He has to admit she is
a looker with an attractive mix of class and moxie. So Megan
and Logan set off on a rather odd mission to track down any
information on her mother and along the way meet some
interesting characters. Sure it would be easier to just
confront her father but then she would miss out on what
could be the best time of her life. As for Logan, well he
has demons of his own to battle. Can he accept help from
Megan to exorcise them just as she has leaned on him
in her quest?
Once again Cathie Linz gives us a character that just can't
be stereotyped. Wisecracking, well endowed, and smart to
boot, with Megan West she broke the librarian mold. LUCK BE
A LADY is a fun romp filled with some bizarre,
lovable, quirky, and endearing folks. Linz' formula
works, so why change it. Enjoy.
Retro-loving librarian Megan West wants her cousin's wedding

it's bound to be. That is, until brash cop Logan Doyle burst
in, ruining everything. Now Megan must salvage this

The shocking news Logan reveals not only threatens the
wedding but unravels everything Megan thought to be true of
her own life. Now, to make things right, Logan sets off with
her on a whirlwind tour across Nevada to put the pieces of
her life together. It may be a gamble of a lifetime, but
there's a marriage to salvage - and perhaps a love affair of
