Romance Historical

Lord Ruthveyn dedicates himself to taking care of his younger brother and his widowed sister, along with her offspring, making sure they want for nothing. Lately his brother's gambling problems pose a challenge forcing Ruthveyn to leave him in jail and face the consequences of his sins. Escaping to his club is the only place Ruthveyn receives a reprieve, but fate intervenes when the beautiful Grace Gauthier sweeps into the club demanding to see a friend of his. Being the gentleman he is, Ruthveyn hears her out then sends her on her way, but he accidentally touches her bare skin and everything changes, confusing his senses. The situation she needs help with is simple and challenging, but Grace herself is the most intriguing puzzle yet.

Grace Gauthier is sure she has finally found the stability that a husband and children can offer a woman like her until her employer and would-be fiancé is murdered in his home. Unfortunately, Grace is seen with him in her arms and evidence is pointing in her direction. Grace's desperation leads her to a men's club, where an old friend is suppose to be. Grace needs his help to find the real killer and clear her name. To Grace's dismay, her friend is not available and the only person willing to help is the brooding Lord Ruthveyn, who doesn't seem to believe her. Hopefully, Lord Ruthveyn is unable to pass up a puzzle of adventure and intrigue. Together, he and Grace embark on a wild and dangerous adventure, trusting instincts and the unknown.

ONE TOUCH OF SCANDAL is a fantastic beginning to a trilogy that promises a fun adventure and guarantees to stretch your imagination. A very exciting read!

SUMMARY

Grace Gauthier had taken a position as governess hoping to find security and peace in a life that had very little of either. She’s always yearned for a good marriage, a family, and a home, but it was not to be. And when the brutal murder of her employer leaves her unprotected and alone—as Scotland Yard’s prime suspect—she has no one to turn to except the mysterious and reclusive Lord Ruthveyn.

A dark-eyed Lucifer, Ruthveyn guards his secrets carefully. His shadowed past as the Queen’s most trusted agent in India is the stuff of whispered rumor, as is his mixed ancestry. Deeply moved by her plight—and haunted by her beauty—Ruthveyn is determined to save Grace by unmasking a killer. But his growing passion for her soon places his own heart at risk and threatens to expose his dark gifts—and his dark society—to the world . . .
