Mystery Cozy | Mystery Hobbies

Marcy Singer has followed her dreams and moved to the quiet little town of Tallulah Falls, Oregon to open her own stitchery shop, The Seven Year Stitch. Celebrating the shop's grand opening with goodies and coffee from her friend Sadie's coffee shop, Marcy is thrilled with the reaction of her customers to the new store. But when the previous tenant crashes the party, insisting on talking with Marcy, a pall is cast over the festivities. Even more gloom shrouds the shop when that previous business owner is found dead in Marcy's storeroom, just hours after the grand opening event. Not long afterward, Marcy's landlord is also found dead, and all fingers begin to point in the direction of the town's newest resident - Marcy.

Anxious to clear her name, Marcy begins to ask questions about a shady real estate deal that seems to connect everyone in Tallulah Falls, including her best friend Sadie. With a little help from a handsome detective, a gorgeous pub owner, and protection from her Irish wolfhound Angus, Marcy just might be able to stitch up the mysterious deaths before the killer threads another needle- full of trouble!

In her debut novel, THE QUICK AND THE THREAD, author Amanda Lee gives her Embroidery Mystery series a rousing start with a fast-paced, intriguing who-done-it that will delight fans of the cozy mystery genre. With a cast of lively characters, and an interesting theme that is sure to attract fans of crafting mysteries, the only thing missing from this charming book is the inclusion of an embroidery pattern or two! But the author (who is also writes as Gayle Trent) has two cute patterns available at her website -- www.gayletrent.com

SUMMARY

First in a new mystery series that will have readers stitching-and itching for more

When Marcy Singer opens an embroidery specialty shop in quaint Tallulah Falls, Oregon, she throws a soiree and a Stitch-In. Soon, Marcy's sign- up sheet for embroidery classes fills up and everyone in town seems willing to raise a glass-or a needle-to support the newly-opened Seven Year Stitch.

Then Marcy finds the shop's previous tenant dead in the store-room, a message scratched with a tapestry needle on the wall beside him. Now Marcy's shop has become a crime scene, and she's the prime suspect. She'll have to find the killer before someone puts a final stitch in her.
