In BEDTIME STORIES, Jean Johnson takes a collection of fairy tales and makes them her own. Told in a whole different way, they are definitely stories for grown up ears only. I think most of us grew up on these tales and will recognize them.

The eight stories include reimaginings of Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, The Frog Prince, Beauty and the Beast, and Puss in Boots, just to name a few. Each story is a good read, making it hard to choose just one as a favorite. Instead, I would like to mention a few to show you just how enjoyable this book can be.

In The Frog Prince, I enjoyed seeing things from the frogs point of view and watching him learn his lesson, and even maybe fall in love.

In Puss in Boots, we meet a woman trapped in the body of a cat by a fellow mage; an interesting take on the childhood character. I enjoyed Siona and the smarts she displayed while working through her predicament.

Beauty and the Beast tells Viktor and Raisa's story. Proving that, no matter what, love conquers all.

In Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs, the readers are treated to a connection to the Sons of Destiny series.

These, and many other, stories in this book make for a great read.

BEDTIME STORIES: A COLLECTION OF EROTIC FAIRY TALES is a wonderful diversion from the sweet childhood stories of our youths. Being able to read one or two short stories at time makes it a nice bedtime read, just as the title proclaims. This was a nice introduction to this author's writing style. Hopefully you will enjoy these stories as much as I did.
