The third book in Dee Davis' romantic suspense trilogy is
no less suspenseful than the first two. This is Tyler
Hanson's story. Tyler has been with A-Tac for a long time
as the demolitions expert. She is specifically asked to be
put on a mission in which prototype detonators are stolen
and the two men she is escorting are murdered, suspicion
rears its ugly head especially when she has a bizarre story
to tell involving her mother's suicide and the blue scarf
left behind which promptly disappears.
Tyler meets British operative Owen Wakefield during this
mission and has a one night stand with him. Now
mysteriously he's attached to A-Tac for some reason. Does
he have some sort of agenda and why does he seem to want to
get closer to Tyler? More and more evidence points to a
mole in the midst of A-Tac and now the team has to try to
rat out one of their own. Will they be able to do what
needs to be done before it is too late?
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading all of Dee Davis' books
but her romantic suspense are just cutting edge top of the
line reads. Not only do her books succeed in capturing my
attention from the very first paragraph but they hold my
attention like a vise throughout the entire book. I am
always on the edge of my seat and cannot turn the pages
fast enough. This trilogy is no exception. I highly
recommend this book and the other two of this fantastic
series! I eagerly look forward to the next read from Dee
Davis.
A-Tac is an elite CIA unit masquerading as faculty at an Ivy
League college. Brilliant, badass, and seemingly
bulletproof, the members of A-Tac are assigned to the
riskiest missions and the most elusive targets.
When
a professional group of thieves steal a shipment of
thermonuclear detonators, Commander Solomon has reason to
suspect that information from inside A-Tac facilitated the
heist. He instructs his team to set up a sting to recover
the detonators and to trap the traitor.
Trusted
A-Tac member Tyler Hanson is skeptical of most everything -
including pompous intellectuals who live life inside an
ivory tower. So when Solomon brings in renowned physicist
and Nobel Prize winner Owen Wakefield to head the team, she
has her doubts.
Wakefield, for his part, has no idea
what to make of the hard-as-brass woman assigned to provide
him with logistical support. Nitro to her glycerin, their
sparks threaten the entire operation, until the traitor in
their midst tightens the noose. Now they have no choice but
to join forces to find the detonators and stop the man who
has betrayed them all.
