Reece Brightman is finally going home to the Hayworth House after spending almost a year avoiding her fate with the fantasy box. The manager of Hayworth House is putting on a singles weekend and needs one of the owners to attend the festivities. Since both of her sisters are unavailable, Reece takes the opportunity to distance herself from the eccentric producer of her show, as well as the cryptic notes with black roses that are being sent to her, and go to Hayworth House. The fantasy box revealed a fantasy of Reece enjoying the sensual delights of a boy-toy, which is completely out of character for her. That is until Reece literally slams into Mac Davies, a guest with broad shoulders and sexy eyes.
Ex-CIA Agent Cody Marsh has taken an assignment to help a friend secure a witness against a major crime boss, but the mission goes from easy to bad real quick as shots are fired at Brie Sullivan. Cody whisks her away to the only place he knows is completely safe, Hayworth House. Unfortunately, the danger follows them, putting Brie's life in constant danger. Cody only hopes the ghost of Hattie Hayworth will keep them both safe. The only option is to attempt to draw the assassin out in the open by using Brie as bait, which Cody is not happy about doing, especially when the house if full of singles hoping to pull their fantasies out of the famous box. Thankfully, the MacFarland brothers and the Brightman sisters, along with their friends, work together to save the day.
This is the third installment in the Encounter series starring Hattie Hayworth and those she chooses to help. If only we all could have such a guardian angel. A refreshing read.
