Life full of twists and turns ultimately shapes who you are.
That was the case for both Grant Spencer and Dusty Martin.
Neither really had a chance to determine their future, each
was mapped out by violence. Grant was just a teenager when
his sheriff father was gunned down by a drunk. Faced with
bringing the murderer to justice or just shooting him Grant
chose the former and likely set in motion his becoming a
Texas Ranger. Dusty's father was faced with a difficult
choice when his wife suddenly died. Now it was just him and
his 16 year old daughter and he just couldn't face leaving
her behind and alone while on stagecoach runs. So he comes
up with a plan to disguise her as a boy feeling that would
keep her safe and with him. He had all ready taught her how
to shoot and ride. Now it was just a matter of haircut and
clothes. People believe what they see, Charley was counting
on it. Dusty & Grants paths cross twice. First at a dance as
Justine AKA Dusty attracts his attention and while wishing
for more time with this beauty worries over any distractions
in his search for the Jackson gang and the second time as
her rescuer from kidnappers. Well actually that's a long
story. Grant was hoping that his partner Frank Thomas had
been able to eliminate the Jackson gang members he was
tailing but unfortunately found himself facing all four
murderers. Question now was how to continue his quest to
bring them to justice, and at the same time return a
stubborn Dusty safely home. Both Grant and Dusty were
relentless in their plights to get the Jackson gang. With a
growing attraction between them they were equally saddened
to be parted. Dusty was proving herself a valuable partner.
Life was just getting more complicated and adding love to
the equation just wasn't helping matters at all.
People in the developing west often times lived almost
secluded lives. Those fortunate few were able to develop
communities that in perilous situations rose to help.
RELENTLESS is a story about tough people going against the
odds for a chance at a good life. Courage, intelligence and
just the right amount of goodness helps equal the field in
favor of the good guys. This page turning tale takes the
reader along for the ride and it is a good one. Enjoy.
A GIRL WHO NEVER GAVE UP
Dusty Martin hadn’t had an easy time of it. After her mama’s
death she’d cut her hair and strapped on a revolver to join
her father riding shotgun atop his stagecoach. Even when
Charley Martin was killed by outlaws, and she was taken
prisoner, Dusty kept hope alive. Until her prayers were
answered by the hottest, hardest Texas Ranger ever to carry
a badge or bring in a bandit.
A MAN WHO NEVER BACKED DOWN
Grant Spencer always got his man, but the wild woman he
rescued on the trail pushed all his limits. Her stubborn
refusal to tell him where the gang was headed meant he’d be
forced to take her with him. And her innocent sensuality
threatened even his iron self-control. Grant had sworn no
lawbreaker would ever escape him, but the driving passion he
felt for Dusty kicked his determination up a notch. Now his
pursuit would be . . .
