Lily Carlyle as Alice Perdue has been compromised as double
agent. Now she has to hide out but she discovers that there
are many who want to follow her because they think she will
stop the Ninth Gate from opening and releasing all demons
from hell.
Still Lily/Alice's first goal is to keep her sister Rose
safe. She cannot believe that the demon who raped and
brutalized Rose in the first place has now taken up
residence in her body but Rose is still there as well so
now Lily has to find out how she can fix this as she thinks
it's her fault that she didn't take care of Rose in the
first place. She must keep Rose close at hand but if she
does she also has to deal with the demon who has his own
agent when it comes to Lily and Rose.
Lily still has Deacon to deal with but it seems as if
Deacon truly wants to help her. She trusts him a little but
wants to make sure he doesn't have his own agenda as well.
There are those in Lily's camp whom she isn't sure she can
trust or believe. She feels as if she is all alone in this
endeavor to save life as we know it.
The third book in the Blood Lily Chronicles was thoroughly
satisfying even though the twists and turns were every bit
as intriguing as the first two books. I enjoyed every word
of every page in this captivating series!
The horrors of hell draw closer as Lily, scarred both
emotionally and physically, finally understands the extent
of her role. But finding the courage to do what's right is
sometimes harder than hell, especially when the ultimate
temptation can be found on the other side of the coin.
