It's the annual 4th of July parade, the first for the Chance brothers since the death of their father. Gabe finds some relief from the grief of the moment when he encounters Morgan O'Connelli. Morgan has returned to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to open a real estate business, and Gabe is intrigued by the woman on the feisty horse in the too-small shirt. Between enticing glances of her considerable assets and calming the horse, Gabe decides Morgan is someone he wants to get to know better. A lot better.
